I promised to share another recipe with all of you each week, and this week, I'm sharing T's Mom's special recipe for hamburger soup. We had this on Super Bowl Sunday, and it makes the perfect comfort food for the winter. Plus, it's a crock pot recipe, so you don't have to fuss over it too much.
What you need:
1 lb hamburger
2 cans of reduced sodium tomato soup
1 packet of onion soup
3 cups of boiling water
1 tsp of basil
1 tsp of pepper
1 cup of elbow noodles
It's really easy. All you need to do is combine all ingredients, minus the noodles in the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. You'll need to break up the ground beef before you add the noodles, but when you are ready to serve, add the 1 cup of cooked noodles and serve with a sprinkle of parmesean cheese.
It's delicious! I highly recommend it...but I am partial...what can I say?
I know for a fact that I would mess this up! I seriously can't cook! I burned a hole in a pot last week...yeah, that explains it! Can I just pay you to make it for me and Fed-ex it to me? ;)
ReplyDeleteYUM!!!! This is the perfect recipe for me, seriously. I'll forward this to my husband - he's always looking for crock pot recipes to prepare on weeknights. Thanks! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis definitely sounds delish! I have a few questions though. Do you just dump the beef into the crockpot whole or break it up first? Is the 1 cup of noodles for the entire soup or one serving? I seriously want to try this!
ReplyDeletethat sounds a lot like my galosh.. it is so good...
ReplyDeletebtw, you have been tagged. Check it out at this link here
Sprite's Keeper: You break the meat up later, after it has been cooked. It's easier to break-up that way. And the noodles serves for the entire soup. :-)
ReplyDeleteYum! Definitely looks like something my family would love. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so simple! I'm always looking for ways to use my crockpot that don't require a lot of prep.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: what is onion soup? Is it found in the gravy/taco mix section of the grocery store? Haha, I feel so silly asking this!
@Christina - They usually come in a box of two packages of dried onion soup mix. You find them where the soups are with the chicken broths, etc. Hope this helps!
