Saturday Steal: In the name of good dental hygiene....

My Saturday Steal (from Archives of Our Lives) comes to you courtesy of T. At his work on Tuesday, they had some kind of safety event where vendors came by to advertise their safety things (in my technical terms, yes). So apparently they were handing out free stuff. Engineers are notoriously cheap, so giving free stuff to them is like providing crack to an addict. It's just too easy. So, T goes down there and checks this thing out, and mid-morning, I get a text:

10:36 a.m., T: "Just scored a free toothbrush and toothpaste at the safety thing. Hell yeah!"

10:41 a.m., T: "After lunch, I will walk through again and get another toothbrush so we can each have one. Any little bit helps, right?"

10:42 a.m., Me: "ha, you are too funny..."

So later in the day, I get a text from T, who is frustrated that the truck testing he was supposed to do for work wasn't going to happen because of some "technical glitches."

2:21 p.m., T: "Ugh....so no fuel economy testing until next week because the truck is a P.O.S...."

I didn't get the chance to respond because I was in the middle of something at work, but I felt bad for him. About five minutes later, before I can even respond.... T: "HA!! Just scored my second free toothbrush! This day is not a total waste...."

My response: "It's good to see you're recognizing those things that are truly important."

I am so glad that it's the little things in life that make T happy. That makes birthdays and Christmas SO easy for me :-)
