Distractions

So my mind is feeling a little bit rambling again today....I got some bad  news yesterday afternoon after work.  My friend Sonnie passed away yesterday afternoon after battling terminal liver cancer since September.  I feel a little torn about it.  Part of me is glad for her because she no longer has to suffer and is in a better place with God.  I absolutely hate cancer because I've seen too many people I love and care about suffer from it.  It's just not fair.  But at the same time, I'm so sad because she is a wonderful person who will be missed very much.  It's just not fair.  Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers.  I know she and her family appreciate them.

T could not have been more supportive last night and this morning.  We took off today because he's going down to French Lick, Indiana with me to attend the Indiana State Bar Association  Young Lawyer's Fun Meeting.  I'm on their council, so the room and dinner are free.  All we have to pay is gas money to get down there.  It should be fun and a really  nice distraction from this week.  I've been there once before with the Indiana State Bar Association, and the hotel is beautiful.  T hasn't been down there yet, so he should have fun.  We have a dinner tonight, a bowling tournament thing and gambling tonight, and then tomorrow I have a meeting while T can sleep in, and then a lunch.  He and I don't plan on rushing back and maybe checking out the French Lick Winery while we're down there.

So this morning, I get up and T has folded the laundry from yesterday and made me breakfast.  Isn't he sweet?  We went for a walk this morning, which was really difficult, too, because man, is it hot out there!  And muggy!  Went for an hour walk, which, with me is really hard because I walk fast.  My 5k walking time is around 42 minutes for 3.1 miles.  But T keeps up with me.  As we were walking we had this interaction about T possibly running while we're in Ireland.

"I'm going to go running while we're there.  I bet the hotel can tell me where there are some good running trails," says T.

"Just don't get lost,"  I respond.

"Yeah, knowing me I'll get lost.  But I'm sure someone will help me.  They'll be all like come here, laddie, I'll show you the way, but first come join me for a pint."  T says this in his best Irish voice. (He comes across more as the leprechaun from the Lucky Charms commercial.)

"Yeah, except you know this isn't Lucky Charms, right?  You're talking like a leprechaun.  They're not going to be having you follow the rainbow to their pot of gold, right?"

"Ha, yeah, but it'd be funny if they were like that," T says.

Oh, T, how I love your innocence.  Please don't insult the Irish people while we're over there....

"These kids are always stealing me lucky charms..."

I'll be back with pictures from our little trip!  TGIF!
