Date nights are a treasure

Happy Small Treasure Tuesdays with Chantel!  It's always good to take a step back and think about the blessings you have in your life, and while I do have a lot going on, I do have a lot of blessings in my life.  And this last weekend I got to spend time with one of them...my husband, T.

We decided with all the serious stuff going on, we needed a date day, and Sunday, we headed out for a Nain and T date, just the two of us.  I even left my cell phone at home to cut myself from facebook, twitter, all technology.  Our first stop was the new house, and look how far it has come!

The brick, siding, and the drywall is up!  It was hotter than hell in there because they have to heat the place up with that propane tank you see there to set the drywall, so we weren't in there long, but it's so great to see things moving along.  You can make out which room is which, and it's really looking like a home.  (yay!)

So, we left our soon-to-be home and headed to the movies.  I'm not even sure what movie was the last one we saw in the theater...I think it was a couple years ago...so that's sad....We saw the movie Hall Pass, which was pretty funny.  I definitely wouldn't recommend one take a child to that movie, even though some of the classy citizens of our town brought kids there, but....who is judging?  It was the first time in a long time where I actually relaxed and let myself just laugh and have fun.  And it was a much needed break.

So after the movie, we headed to one our favorite places, BJ's Brewhouse, for an early dinner and a sweet dessert - their awesome pizookie (chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven covered in ice cream - aaaahmazing!)  Great dinner, and a great time to spend with my one and only.

So what small treasures have you had in your life?  Stop by Chantel's blog and check out what other people have to share!

  6. Aw, yay! Date nights are great!

On a totally different topic, what the hell is wrong with people?? Why would you take your kid to a movie without finding out something about it in advance??? Ugh.

    But yay date nights!
